God Bless you Bonnie!!!

My mother in law died today at 1:05 pm. It was the first person I have ever actually seen die. She was surrounded by family and friends–Death itself is an amazing process.  The thing I noticed most or will remember about this experience –My wife’s comment– Did you noticed the room change.  With her last breath it was as if a vacuum had removed something from the room.  This was a saved women who loved the lord very much.

God declares that “all souls are Mine.” “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you”.  For none of us lives to himself, and none of us dies to himself.  For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord.  So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.  God says, All souls are Mine and I am able to make them stand.  God looks at death entirely differently than we do.  We look at death as the absence of brain waves or heartbeat, separation of soul and body.  God sees death only as the separation of a soul from Him (i.e when that soul has rejected him.) To the believer there will never be the separation of a soul from God.  In other words, people can live their lives as dead people.  God has no pleasure in death.  That is why He sent His son to give us the gift of eternal life.

God bless you Bonnie and happy death day.  Truly, I say to you, today  you will be with me in Paradise,  He will wipe every tear from your eyes, and death will be no more, neither shall there be mourning, crying, or pain.

In Memory of the Childern

May 24, 2008 · 2 Comments

My Wife Charlotte shared this picture with me.  Our next door neighbor John, who flew Black Hawk Helicopters and served in Iraq, died last July–I see his son when I look at this picture.  Not all the brave leave the “Home of the Brave” to enter battle. Some are required now to be the brave of the home.  It is said a picture is worth a thousand words.  This picture leaves me speechless.

Dr. Robert Jastrow Dies

Dr. Robert Jastrow, world-renowned astrophysicist, Died last month, he described the astronomical discoveries of recent years and the theological implications of the new insights afforded by science into mankind’s place in the cosmos. He explained the chain of events that forced astronomers, despite their initial reluctance (“Irritating,” said Einstein; “Repugnant,” said the great British astronomer Eddington; “I would like to reject it,” said MIT physicist Philip Morrison) to accept the validity of the Big Bang and the fact that the universe began in a moment of creation.  His Great quote

For the scientist who has lived by his faith in the power of reason, the story ends like a bad dream. He has scaled the mountains of ignorance; he is about to conquer the highest peak; as he pulls himself over the final rock, he is greeted by a band of theologians who have been sitting there for centuries.

Thanking Mike for an Excellent Blogger Call

November 26, 2007 · 1 Comment

Mike as blogger’s, we appreciate your calls and your hard work.  One of the questions this morning touched on how tourism might be affected by the FairTax.  The answer, it should stimulate it by 10 to 20% because those services would no longer be inflated by taxes. Mike Huckabee supports the FairTax.  Here is his position as stated on his web page, ” I am running to completely eliminate all federal taxes, personal, federal, corporate, gift, estate, capital gains, and self employment.”  The FairTax will replace the IRS with a consumption tax.  All of us will get a monthly rebate that will reimburse us for taxes on purchases up to the poverty line, so that were not taxed on necessities.  That means people below the poverty line won’t be taxed at all.  We’ll be taxed on what we decide to buy, not what we happen to earn. The tax will apply only to new goods, so we can reduce our taxes further by buying a used car or computer. Our current progressive tax system penalizes  us for working harder, the FairTax isn’t intended to raise any more or less money for the federal government to spend – it is revenue neutral.  A  recent study by MIT found that our tax system deprives us of about one billion in exports annually.  When we export over-priced goods as we have, you end up exporting jobs and industries as we now are.  Under the FairTax,  American companies are far less likely to move overseas and foreign companies are far more likely to come here.  Our current system gives an estimated advantage of 18% to foreign goods over American goods. The FairTax supported by Mike Huckabee is another reason he gets my vote.

Mike Huckabee on Character — His Book

November 21, 2007 · Leave a Comment

A former pastor who preaches the Gospel in his political book.  Huckabee bashes “moral relativism,” by which he means it’s a bad idea for people to define what’s right and what’s wrong.  God should define right and wrong and he does in his word (The Bible).  Those definitions should not change based on the idiosyncrasies of one society.  Huckabee points out that humans are self-centered at their core, and in order to be good, humans need God, he points out that the basic  problem with liberalism is that liberals mistakenly think humans are good at their core.   This man is so intelligent, I will be voting for him in the November 2008 election.  Go Mike Go:)

Galatians 5:16

November 21, 2007 · Leave a Comment

This I Say then, Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.  In reality, that is more than a formula. It is a promise. If you do this that will happen.  God’s Secret weapon against the devil’s sabotage of our testimony is simply to, “Walk in the Spirit”. But what does that mean? How do I do that?  I believe the answer is found back in Galatians 2:20,  My old self has been crucified with Christ.  It is no longer I who live, But Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. ”Walking” refers to my day-by-day journey through life.  That Journey is filled with challenges.  Decisions have to be made; inter-actions with people who share my world have to be negotiated; set-backs, disappointments, responsibilities, frustrations, hopes and fears have to be dealt with.  That is the stuff of which our journey is made.  If I set out into each day, trusting in my own ability to negotiate these challenges, I must expect failure, for then I shall be “walking in the flesh”. I shall be relying on my own human resources to see me through. Try never to make the mistake of asking the Lord to help you live a victorious day.  That is like the flesh asking the Spirit to help it to have victory over itself!  The Holy Spirit will not help the flesh.  He has pronounced it dead!  It is not the flesh that will gain vicotry.  It is Christ alone who will be victorious or there will be no victory at all.
